'Hysteria' was released on Muse's third studio album 'Absolution' in 2003. It was the fourth single to be released from 'Absolution' preceded by 'Sing for Absolution'. It was released on December 1st, 2003. The main single featured the b-side 'Eternally Missed'. The song's main bass line originated on guitar, but was moved to bass as the band believed it gave a better sound, and to free up the guitar to play a more melodic part.
