Song Info

Contrary to popular belief, this song is most likely not about lovers. Tim Rice-Oxley has said that the 'somewhere only we know' can be a great variety of things, and when writing the song, left it to be ambiguous, though he has thought of it as a sort of escape, such as a good memory or a favorite place. This is not my favourite Keane song but is the song of the decade for sure. Everybody knows it. When I say to someone: "I'm a Keane fan" People use to ask: Who? Then I sing some verses of SOWK and they say: Oh yeah! I love this song too!

When this song came out i was about 9, i knew the words off by heart within hours. This is one of the songs from my childhood. It reminds me of good times and so is the song of the decade for me. Amazing peice of music.

I love that this song can be about what you want it to be about. Its meaning has evolved for me over the years but I always sing it loud when I hear it and I love to get lost in it.

I knew his music already 7 years ago. I heard them in the radio and until I did not know those who were a step any time, because even they had not recorded any CD and they was going of single in single. But Tom Chaplin's energetic and powerful voice I get obsessed, as well as the melodies, the poetry and the love that they were leaking of the letters and Tim Rice-Oxley's melodies. They were leading me to crossing forests, to dreaming between the clouds, or to magic epochs of the past of his island. And I knew also across them to the love of my life. They are uniques, big artists for his humility, the genius and the great sensibility of Tim Rice-Oxley's compositions. Tom Chaplin is one of the big voices of the epoch, comparablly with Lucciano Pavarotti, as well as he it was Freddie Mercurie in his time. He is magnificent as interpreter and as person. Shines in the scene as a light in the darkness. Richard Hughes, sensitive and compromised with the life and art, it is an example of humanity and talent. They are a family already for my. I admire and adore them. His music consoles me, accompanies me in my trips, in my daily work, makes me dance, smile and feel alive. Thank you Toms, Tim and Rich. K xx
