the lyrics to this song are applicable to everyone, wherever in the world they are and whatever they might be going through. the music is upbeat and positive, surely what we needed during this decade. the video was timeless and the song has endured millions of radio replays and remained extremely popular. i have no doubt this song should not only be song of the decade but of the century, in fact, i'd say it would be a right and proper "world song".

This song is such a step forwards for Coldplay, it made me really excited about the prospect of the future for this band. Instead of falling into the trap of generic pop rubbish, they've used their fame and fortune to secure artistic freedom - as the daring arrangement shows... this really is the culmination of all their previous work. Song of the decade? Maybe not... but it's certainly the best out of the popular music with a chance of winning :p (I voted for Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros)

Chris Martin and his fellow band members are geniuses. Even if you just listen to the music [w/o the words] most of their songs are brilliant! Chris has a voice range unlike many, and what ices their cake is their willingness to say that they feel are not the best, but just have the unique opportunity to do what they love . Enuf sed.
